Macomb County Clerk & Register of Deeds Fred Miller has introduced a “Senior Advocacy” program to help Macomb County senior citizens navigate through Clerk’s Office services and find other resources dedicated to area seniors. The Clerk’s “Senior Hotline” was unveiled at the recent Healthy Living Expo, hosted by the Sterling Heights Chamber of Commerce on Sept. 12, 2019. “We know that sometimes finding a Clerk’s Office service or filling out one of those complicated forms can sometimes be a daunting task,” said Miller. “Our ‘Senior Advocacy’ program will make it easier for Macomb County seniors to connect with services and get the personalized attention they deserve.” The Clerk’s Office has established a dedicated “Senior Hotline” that Macomb County seniors can call to speak directly with a Senior Advocacy Clerk and have questions answered and receive help with various Clerk’s Office services. In the event that the hotline is busy or is reached outside of business hours, voice messages will be returned in person by a Senior Advocacy Clerk.
Additionally, the new “Senior Advocacy” web page — macombgov.org/SeniorHotline — is now available with common Clerk’s Office services, a “large type” request form and links to other resources, such as Macomb Community Action and the Area Agency on Aging 1-B, a robust service supporting older adults and family caregivers in Southeast Michigan. Also listed on the “Senior Advocacy” web page are Clerk’s Office “Mobile Office” dates and locations. The popular program travels to many of Macomb County’s cities and townships and offers most Clerk’s Office and Register of Deeds services to residents without the need to drive to the downtown Mount Clemens offices or worry about parking. “The new web page features some of the most common Clerk’s Office services seniors may need, like getting a copy of a deed or a copy of a birth record,” Miller said. “Macomb County is living longer and getting older, which is great news. Public services must respond accordingly and do everything we can to support seniors living independently and ‘age in place.’” Comments are closed.
